It is no secret that Terrafirma is interested in Fil-Am Joshua Munzon but it’s too early to tell if he is going to be the team’s No. 1 overall pick in next month’s PBA Rookie Draft.

Dyip governor Bobby Rosales has mentioned the 6-foot-4 Munzon as a candidate although he said that there is no decision yet as to who will the team select as the top overall draft.

“Yes he’s on the list… I think there are 12 players (on the list),” Rosales said in jest when contacted Monday by Manila Bulletin.

“But we’re looking at almost all the possibilities. But his name (Munzon) is there, although it’s the decision of the coaching staff when it comes to selecting the player for the top pick.”

Terrafirma owns the No. 1 overall selection, as well as the eighth pick, which the franchise received with the 2022 first round pick, as well as Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Jelo Alolino and Russel Escoto from San Miguel Beer in exchange for CJ Perez.

Munzon, who played college ball for California State University, said if ever Terrafirma decides to pick him, he said it is going to be an exciting team considering the core they got led by Roosevelt Adams, the top pick in last year’s draft.

“I played with Roosevelt Adams a little bit,” said Munzon as he appeared on the weekly Saturday sports show The Chasedown on One PH over Cignal TV. “I’ve been very excited to walk in there.”

“They have a core where I can come in and contribute, hopefully win some games and be competitive.”

Munzon has played professional basketball in the ASEAN Basketball League with Saigon Heat and Westport Malaysia Dragon, although in the past two years he was active playing in 3x3 competitions

Munzon is part of the Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 squad with SMB’s Moala Tautuaa and Perez, and fellow PBA aspirant Alvin Pasaol preparing for the FIBA 3x3 Olympic qualifying tournament in Graz, Austria this May.
