PBA gives green light to Belo-Amer trade after inclusion of Faundo

The PBA approved on Thursday, February 4, the Blackwater-Meralco trade which sends Mac Belo to the Bolts in exchange for Baser Amer with the addition of Bryan Faundo. 

The veteran forward Faundo was included in the package for the league's trade committee headed by deputy commissioner Eric Castro to give a green light to the transaction that was previously a one-on-one deal involving Belo and Amer. 

Last Tuesday, February 2, a reliable source told Bulletin reporter Waylon Galvez that Blackwater shipped the versatile 27-year-old forward Belo to Meralco for the heady 28-year-old playmaker Amer. 

Belo, a former UAAP champion from Far Eastern University, has put up averages of 11.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists since getting selected as the top overall pick by the Elite in 2016.  

On the other hand, the ex-San Beda guard and the Bolts' seventh pick in the 2015 draft has normed 10.4 points, boards and 2.9 dimes in his five-year PBA career so far. 

Faundo's numbers somehow provided the balance in the trade as the 11-year league journeyman has 3.8 points and 2.4 rebounds to his name. 

The 36-year-old, 6-foot-6 forward also found himself back in Blackwater where he enjoyed his career-high averages of 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds in 25.0 playing minutes in the 2014-2015 season.
