Only a few days have passed since Execration ended its campaign in the inaugural season of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC)-Southeast Asia Upper Division, but the team is already gearing up for the next one.
After a botched bid to qualify for the Singapore Major, Execration revamped its roster with the reacquisition of veteran Fernando "Nando" Mendoza and rising star Jinn "Palos" Lamatao for the second DPC season.
The team announced the development through a Facebook post on Sunday, Feb. 28.
Nando, known as a carry, replaced offlaner Glenard "Rupido" Rugay while Palos retained his position-1 role.
Yuri Dave "Yowe" Pacaña returns to his original role as a midlaner, filling the void left by Argle "Ken" Llesis.
Execration barely stayed alive in the eight-team Upper Division wherein the region's Major representatives are determined after finishing at No. 6 with a 2-5 record.
With Nando as a stand-in carry, the boys in black and blue pulled off a crucial 2-1 victory over 496 Gaming of Vietnam in a battle to remain in the elite group.
The 24-year-old Nando is no stranger to playing for the Kimuel "Kim0" Rodis-coached team as this is where the journeyman started his pro Dota 2 career.
In fact, this is Nando's fifth stop with Execration after suiting up for various teams including Neon Esports and Cignal Ultra.
For his part, Palos played for Execration from September 2019 to October 2020 before moving to Vice Esports, which he helped qualify for the Upper Division.
However, Vice was relegated to the Lower Division after winding up with a dismal 1-6 record.
