Loman reportedly set for ONE debut against UFC veteran Lineker

Team Lakay's Stephen Loman is reportedly making his ONE Championship debut with a bantamweight clash against UFC veteran John Lineker of Brazil in April.

Per MMA Fighting sources, the Loman-Lineker showdown is part of ONE on TNT 4 and will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The development is welcomed by Team Lakay stalwart and strawweight champion Joshua Pacio through his official Facebook page.

Coach Mark Sangiao, however, refused to give further comments but told the Manila Bulletin in a text message Friday, Feb. 26, that there has been no confirmation yet from ONE Championship.

Before joining the Singapore-based promotion, Loman, who holds a 14-2 record, was the longest reigning champion in BRAVE Combat Federation who fights in the bantamweight division.

The man known as "The Sniper" last saw action in November 2019 in BRAVE CF 30 and scored a unanimous decision win against Ilias Sanoudakis of Canada for his fourth title defense and fifth consecutive victory in BRAVE.

Lineker, for his part, is riding on a two-match win streak since his ONE debut last October 2019.

The former UFC fighter became the No. 1 bantamweight contender in ONE after knocking out Team Lakay's Kevin Belingon in ONE: Inside the Matrix III at the Singapore Indoor Stadium last November.

Should the Loman-Lineker bout pushes through, it will be a revenge storyline as far as Team Lakay is concerned.

The match may be included in the ONE on TNT series with its first edition kicking off on April 7 as world flyweight champion Adriano Moraes of Brazil and flyweight grand prix titleholder Demetrious Johnson of America square off in the main event.
