Dionne Monsanto confirms leaving showbiz for good

Dionne Monsanto announced her retirement from show business after almost two decades in the industry.

Monsanto confirmed this after she expressed her gratitude to ABS-CBN which became her home network the past years.

Her last TV appearance was a guest stint on "Magandang Buhay," which was aired exactly 14 years apart since she was launched as one of the housemates of "Pinoy Big Brother" season 2.

"I started acting professionally in 2002 for ABS-CBN RNG. It has been an amazing 18 years. Thank you for helping this small-town girl achieve her dreams. I am forever grateful," she wrote on Instagram.

Late last month, the Bulletin Entertainment reported about Monsanto's retirement from acting after her colleagues in the business threw her despedida party.
