Local celebs react to Daft Punk split up after 28 years

Some Filipino stars have expressed distress, after one of the era’s defining dance floor acts, Daft Punk, hung up their helmets.

Note that the French electronic music duo formed in 1993 in Paris by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalte announced their retirement in typically enigmatic fashion with a video showing one of them exploding in a desert.

Young actor James Reid revealed that international musicians have been, and are still, one of his "greatest" influences.

Anne Curtis-Smith expressed gratitude to the Grammy award-winning artists for their contribution to the music scene.

"Merci pour la musique (Thanks for the music)."

On the other hand, she also shared Daft Punk's "One More Time," tagging showbiz colleagues Joyce Tiongson, Cheska Kramer, Zhara Banal, CJ Jaravata, Danica Pingris, Antoinette Taus, Monique Jamlang, Liz Uy, and Luis Manzano.

"Remind me of our youth! So many good memories come with this song! We won't stop-ah! You can't stop-ahhh!"

Luis reacted to Anne's Instagram story, reposting it again, saying "SOBRAAAAA."

Georgina flooded her account with Daft Punk's photos while adding a broken heart emoji.

In another story, Anne revealed that the track "Digital Love" is her "ultimate favorite."

"…and a staple on my iPod playlist and will remain a staple on my feel good playlist!," she said.
