Korina Sanchez-Roxas prays for Doris Bigornia's speedy recovery

Broadcaster Korina Sanchez-Roxas took to Facebook on Wednesday, Feb, 24, to pray for the speedy recovery of her good friend fellow broadcaster Doris Bigornia who suffered a heart attack last Sunday night, Feb. 21.

On Facebook Feb. 24, Korina wrote: "One of my oldest friends (Pero Hindi halata kasi fabulous forever) Doris Bigornia. Graduate of many of life’s hard knocks courses and veteran of many of life’s battles and wars. Aren't we all? But Doris more than most. Ayan. Napakasal na ang inaanak ko. Congrats, Nikki. Lorenzo, your brother is also looking so well.

"Single hero-mom, fierce news correspondent, Mutya Ng Masa, crazy girlfriend, Hugot Queen. Doris is a legend on-cam and off. She now fights a major battle in-hospital, for her life. Surgery soon. A prayer from all of you for Doris will surely help. For me. In Jesus’ Mighty Name," said Korina.

On Feb. 23, Alvin Elchico announced at the start of the DzMM radio show "SRO" that his co-anchor Bigornia suffered a heart attack. He added that Bigornia will undergo an open-heart surgery.

Elchico said that he asked permission from Bigornia's family before he made the announcement.

“Siya po’y sinugod sa ospital at ngayon po’y nasa ICU. Ka-kaailanganin po ng ano eh, open-heart surgery. So ang pamilya po ay humihingi po ng panalangin, so sa ngalan po ng pamilya ni Doris Bigornia, ang Mutya ng Masa, kami po sa DZMM Teleradyo ay humihingi po ng inyong panalangin,” he said.

“Ipagadasal po natin na mapagtagumpayan po ni Doris ang susuungin po niyang pagsubok kasi hanggang ngayon (nasa ICU). Nakaka-usap ko siya, conscious po si Doris, pero kakailanganin po niya ‘yong open heart surgery pagkatapos po ng atake sa puso," he added.
