Jenel Lausa faces undefeated Afghan fighter in MMA comeback

Newly-signed Jenel Lausa is set to lock horns with undefeated Afghan fighter in BRAVE Combat Federation in March, the promotion announced Tuesday night, Feb. 23.

Lausa, who recently joined the Bahrain-based promotion for his mixed martial arts comeback, will face Rahmatullah Yousufzai in their flyweight bout in BRAVE CF 47: Asian Domination on March 11.

A UFC veteran, Lausa, who holds a 7-5 MMA record, last saw action in the Octagon in June 2018 and suffered defeat at the hands of Japanese foe Yuta Sasaki in UFC Fight Night 132.

Known as "The Demolition Man," Lausa scored a unanimous decision win in his UFC debut in November 2016 over Chinese opponent Zhikui Yao before suffering three straight defeats for the next two years.

Lausa, a former PXC flyweight champion, is also undefeated in boxing with the most recent win in September 2019 by way of knockout against Carlos Lopez of Indonesia.

Against Yousufzai, the 32-year-old Lausa will face an unbeaten flyweight prospect who has won four straight bouts since his MMA debut in 2018.

Yousufzai also had an impressive start in BRAVE CF after scoring a technical knockout victory over Abdulmanap Magomedov of Russia in just 41 seconds during BRAVE CF 41 last September.

The match will serve as an undercard for the main event between compatriot Rolando Dy and Abdisalam Kubanychbek of Kyrgyzstan for the lightweight title eliminator.
