Kuya Wil is a proud lolo to Meryll Soriano's son

Reveals top items he’s planning to shop for his youngest apo

Veteran actor and television host Willie Revillame, popularly known as Kuya Wil, is ecstatic now that he's a proud grandfather to his daughter Meryll Soriano’s youngest son 'Gido.' 

At the Shopee’s 3.3-4.4 Mega Shopping Sale press conference held on Monday, Feb. 22, where he was name as the brand’s newest ambassador, Kuya Wil said that he’s looking forward to spend time with his grandson.

“Iniisip ko ito yung mag-aalaga sa akin (I’m thinking that they’ll be the ones to look after me),” Kuya Wil tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “Bilang lolo, gusto ko parang kaibigan, kabarkada ko lang yung mga apo ko. Kung ano yung nakikita mo sa TV, gusto ko ganun. Yung iniinis mo. Ayun ang gusto ko (As a grandfather, I want to have a close and friendly relationship with them. Something like those in the movies where grandads tease their grandchildren. That’s the type of relationship I want to build with them).”

When asked about the gifts he wants to give to his youngest apo, the “Wowowin” host said that as of these days he focuses on the necessities such as diapers and other baby stuff. 

“Hindi ko kasi masyadong kabisado kung ano yung kailangan niya. Si Meryll yung binibigyan ko ng pera pambili ng kailangan niya (I’m not sure what are the things that he needs so I give money to Meryll to buy),” he says.  “Si Gido, two months old pa lang yung bata. Ang father nya si Joem (His name is Guido and his father is Joem).” 

On Jan. 1, 2021, Meryll surprised her followers by posting a photo with actor Joem Bascon while she’s holding a cute little angle in her arms. That time, the actress didn’t reveal any hint about the baby’s name and when did she give birth. 

“Brief siguro tsaka lampin kasi iyon ang kailangan ng bata. Mga diaper kasi bata siya ngayon (Maybe underwear and diapers because those are the things he needed now),” he continues. “Pero in the future syempre, kung anuman ang meron ako ngayon sa kanila din naman mapupunta yun di ‘ba? Sa pamilya ko, kila Meryll, sa mga anak nila. Sa ngayon lampin at mga tsupon (But in the future, everything that I have will be passed on to them. To my family, to Meryll and to her children. But for now, I’ll buy diapers and baby bottles on Shopee first).”
