Sunsparks set to build Valorant team

Sunsparks is looking to establish its dominance not just in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang but also in the growing Valorant esports scene.

The renowned team under the Bren Esports organization revealed through its Facebook page on Saturday afternoon, February 20, that it will form a squad in Riot Games' first-person shooting title.

Details about the Sunsparks Valorant team such as possible tryouts and official debut have yet to be released.

"Looks like the Sunsparks brand will be making an even bigger comeback this year," said Bren Esports head coach Ralph Anrei "Leathergoods" Llabres, the one overseeing Sunsparks, through a Facebook post.

A few days ago, the former MPL champion team expressed its intention to return to the Mobile Legends pro scene after posting about conducting tryouts for a possible mixed-gender squad.

Sunsparks holds the distinction as the first and so far the only back-to-back MPL Philippines champion when it ruled Seasons 4 and 5 of Moonton's professional league for its popular mobile MOBA game.

That bemedalled squad was bannered by Chan "Rafflesia" Fajura, Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz, Kiel VJ "Kielvj" Hernandez, Renz "Renzio" Cadua, Cedric "Fuzaken" Pasusani (Season 4), Ashley "Killuash" Cruz (Season 5) and Allen "Greed" Baloy (Season 5).

Indonesia-based esports organization Aura acquired the team in Season 6 where it suffered an early exit in the playoffs at the hands of fierce rival Onic PH.
