John Rendez gives inspiring words to future musicians

Singer-rapper John Rendez has some inspiring words to those who want to venture into the music scene.
"Stick to your guns. Keep doing what you're doing and don't compromise your principles," said Rendez during an online interview for the promo of his latest single "Not Superman" under Star Music.
Rendez also credited Nora Aunor, his close friend and manager, as his best mentor in the music industry.
"I consider myself as self-taught when it comes to music. But when it comes to artists who taught me a lot about the industry, it's Ms Nora Aunor," he said.
Rendez said that "Not Superman" is his third single under Star Music. "We're not working up to the album level yet. Gusto namin isa-isa muna yung mga songs."
He said that the song was offered to him by Jonathan Manalo in the ballad. "I changed some of the lyrics para ibagay ko yung kanta sa rap. Maganda na 'yung kanta originally lalo pang nakaganda noong dinagdag ko yung rap."
Released on Jan. 29, “Not Superman" is now available on various digital music streaming platforms.

The baritone voice and rapping skills of Rendez shines in his latest music release, which is noticeably different in theme and sound from his previous 2019 melancholic single “Think About It.”
Rendez earned a PMPC Star Award for Folk/Country Recording of the Year in 2019 for his debut single “Start All Over Again,” which was likewise composed and produced by Jonathan under Star Music.
Aside from being a music artist, John is also an actor, having starred in Filipino films such as “Sindak” (1999), “Madaling Mamatay, Mahirap Mabuhay” (1996), and “Whistleblower” (2016), in which he starred opposite Aunor.
