Try parting your hair in the middle, Gen Z recommends

Ok, no laughing crying emojis and no skinny jeans. Now, Gen Z points out that side bangs are passé. It all started with @ladygleep explaining how changing your look from having side bangs to shifting to a mid-part look can work wonders on anybody. “Prove me wrong, but I don’t think there is a single person who looks better with a side part than they do a middle part.”

With over 1.5 million views, TikTok users have been using her voice over and recording their own renditions of how the mid-part look is just a welcome sight with the hashtag #middlepartchallenge.

While some are unsuccessful with the middle part challenge, we believe that there is a way to styling it with the help of professional hairstylists. Creative director Lourd Ramos shares a few tips.

First question, does this fit all face shape and age? "Yes! It might be trendy, but it will suit any facial structure. Style when wet, especially when wavy or curly, to keep it in place. Plus, makeup will help make you feel confident with this 'new' look that you're going for."

A word of advice from the premier hairdresser, this look is also androgynous and very fashion forward. "it can work on super straight or big waves, even with 'shattered bang.'"

But if you're not comfortable with this new look, Lourd says, "Just go back to the original style. Remember, comfort and function over being fashion forward but unsustainable."
