Former UFC fighter Jenel Lausa returns to MMA with BRAVE CF

After more than two years of hiatus, UFC veteran Jenel Lausa is set to return in mixed martial action soon.

Lausa recently signed an exclusive multi-bout contract with BRAVE Combat Federation, the Bahrain-based promotion announced Friday, Feb. 19.

"Coming back to mixed martial arts is really something that I look forward to. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I value the trust that BRAVE CF has given me," said the 32-year-old Lausa.

"I am excited to represent my country once again on the global stage of mixed martial arts, and it is with great pride that my return to the sport will take place under the banner of BRAVE CF."

The Iloilo native fighter last saw action in the Octagon in June 2018, yielding to Japanese foe Yuta Sasaki with a second-round rear-naked choke in UFC Fight Night 132.

Known as "The Demolition Man," Lausa, who holds a 7-5 MMA record, scored a unanimous decision win in his UFC debut in November 2016 over Zhikui Yao of China before suffering three straight defeats for the next two years.

Aside from MMA, Lausa, the former PXC flyweight champion, also squares off in the boxing ring with a 10-0-1 record.

The Ilonggo pug once captured the Philippine Boxing Federation super bantamweight belt in 2016 before clinching the Global Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific super featherweight title three years later.

Lausa, undefeated in boxing, knocked out Carlos Lopez of Indonesia in the fifth round held in Digos City, Davao del Sur in September 2019.
