Karl's Puck stars as T1 thrashes Vice, overtakes TNC at No. 3 in DPC

Star midlaner Karl "Karl" Baldovino's Puck ran amok in the series closer as T1 drubbed Vice Esports, 2-0, and snatched the third spot in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC)-Southeast Asia upper division on Thursday night. 

Karl, an 11k MMR stalwart, led T1's rampage in Game 2, coming through with a perfect game of 16 kills and six assists to power the team's 31-5 crushing of Vice in just 15 minutes. 

The 22-year-old Filipino standout is widely recognized for his Puck gameplay even way back to his Dota 1 career when he was popularly known as Santino. 

Veteran Filipino offlaner Carlo "Kuku" Palad also showed up in the second game with his Lycan chipping in eight kills and four assists against zero deaths. 

It was 11k MMR Lao carry Souliya "JaCkky" Khoomphetsavong who took charge with his Monkey King in Game 1 as he tallied 15 kills and 12 assists with no deaths in a 29-minute 40-14 rout. 

With the lopsided series victory, T1 improved to 4-2 and surpassed TNC (3-2) at No. 3 of the eight-team upper division. 

Only two tickets to next month's Singapore Major are left as Neon Esports (5-0) already secured itself a spot in the first Dota 2 Major of the year. 

Vice remained at the cellar with a dismal 1-5 slate, same with Execration which suffered a 2-0 sweep at the hands of Indonesia's BOOM Esports led by stand-in Thai carry Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon. 

Execration and Vice are on the verge of becoming the bottom two teams that will be relegated to the lower division at the end of the season.
