Every success story often starts with a simple beginning, and that's exactly what she had experienced

"Nagstart ako dati bilang lounge singer sa mga hotel. Push lang talaga, until makakuha ng big break," —this, as the caption of her photo for a cosmetics brand," she said.

Mercado, 33, started her showbiz career as a breakout artist from winning GMA Network's reality-talent search "Starstruck" where she was crowned the "Ultimate Female Survivor" in 2003.

Fast-forward to now, Mercado starred in numerous TV series, films, and various projects cementing her status as the "ultimate star."
