FAMOUS: Int'l skin expert gives update on 2020 Miss Universe pageant

Good news to all Miss Universe fans! 

In our recent virtual interview with Olivia Quido-Co, US-based Filipino skin expert to the stars and beauty queens, gave us exclusive updates for the much-awaited 2020 edition of the Miss Universe Pageant which is expected to be held this year.

Miss O said that IMG is still the owner of the most popular pageant.


“Wala naman change of ownership kasi very close ako sa Vice President ng Miss Universe eh nag a-update kami palagi so ang Miss Universe is still the same under IMG pa din pero kapag ganun mainam na rin na manggaling sa kanila. We call each other may every other week...ganun nag kamustahan kung ano ang latest," she revealed


As for the host country, the skin expert revealed that it's a toss between Las Vegas or Miami in the US.


“Ang host country is still United States. Yun ang based sa last na usapan namin and its either Miami, Florida or Las Vegas and they will make the announcement very soon. Towards April or May kasi kukunin nila kami ulit as the official skincare of Miss Universe. Tapos ang nakakatuwa dyan gusto nila ilagay sa produkto ko ang pangalan ng Miss Universe mismo sa products ko kasi dati parang ina-announce lang nila na ako ang official skincare for Miss Universe," she said.


Miss O revealed a throwback story on how she crossed paths with the Miss Universe Organization and became the official skincare of the pageant.
“Ako mismo ng tinawagan ako na ako ang magiging official skincare ng Miss Universe. Hindi ako makapaniwala kasi the following day, nagkaroon na kami ng meeting with the Vice President hanggang sa lahat ng nagha-handle ng social media nila. Akala ko mahirap kausap pero napaka-down to earth at mabilis sila kausap," she added.



In our recent chat with good friend and movie/events director Ronald B.Abad, he revealed that this pandemic made him realize and discover a new field aside from the entertainment industry.


“Since bumagsak ang events and film industry during the pandemic, nag sideline ako as marketing and advertising sa mga construction company. I usually get accounts na magpapatayo ng bahay or any construction project with R.V. Banzon Architects Company and INFINITY Construction, may nakukuha naman ako na projects which sustains my family needs specially during pandemic. Ang construction company kasi is hindi ganon kahigpit compared to the requirements being demanded ng FDCP sa film industry,” he said.


The entertainment director also revealed that he would always return to events and film making as soon as the situation permits. His last film entitled “Spoken Words” was named one of the best films of 2018 Gawad Pasado.


“As part of KDPP I miss directing Films pero talagang naapektuhan ang Film Industry during this pandemic kaya nahinto lahat. Hopefully we can go back to events, shows and concerts ulit, I also have the 'PHOENIX EXCELLENCE AWARD,' where we honor the different sectors and celebrate excellence in different categories which will happen on August 8, 2021," he added.


R.V. Banzon Architects Company was founded and established in 1978 by architects Reynaldo Villanueva Banzon and Jessica R. Radan.
