K-pop idol iKON to make comeback in March before entering 'Kingdom' in April

K-pop boy band iKON will be returning to the music scene with a new album that will be released in March.

YG Entertainment released a teaser photo of iKON on Feb. 15 to signal the group’s impending comeback in a little over a year since they released the album “I Decide” in February 2020, which topped iTunes in 24 countries and regions.

iKON will be filming the music video for their new song this week, according to the YG blog.

After they release the new album, iKON will be seen on the boy band survival TV program “Kingdom,” which will start airing on April 1 on Mnet. This will be iKON’s first appearance on Mnet in five years.

Due to iKON’s comeback, member Bobby has cut short the promotion of his second solo album “Lucky Man,” which was released last Jan. 25. The promotion was originally set until the end of February.

“iKON’s comeback in March is imminent, and I thought I should focus on practicing and preparing for our performances on Mnet’s ‘Kingdom’, which premieres on April 1. I want to join the other members working hard every day and present an amazing performance which will surprise everyone,” said Bobby.

YG Entertainment said, “We decided to accept Bobby’s opinion and will wrap up the official promotional activities for Bobby’s second solo album ‘Lucky Man,’ originally scheduled until the end of February.” To appease fans, Bobby released a special video titled “U Mad” on Feb. 14.

On “Kingdom,” which will be hosted by TVXQ, iKON will be competing against ATEEZ, The Boyz, SF9, BTOB and Stray Kids.
