Reality bites!  I’m doing a movie where my role is the mother of actor Ion Perez, Vice Ganda’s reel and real bf, which makes me Meme Vice’s mother-in-law in case they do decide to get married. Haha! And to think I am only a year older than Vice Ganda. But getting to talk to Ion, I knew this person could not lie because his eyes said Vice Ganda all over it. I asked him their plans for Valentines Day and he was so excited to give the details.

"Simple lang talaga si Meme. Masaya na siya na kakain lang kami sa bahay. Pero paglulutuan ko siya. Nag-aaral na ako ng masarap na putahe na gagawin para sa kanya. May pasabog din ako na pinaghahandaan na sigurado ako matutuwa siya.” Now if you are expecting a wedding proposal, let’s not rush the couple as their relationship is barely a year (well that’s what we know). But I have a strong feeling it will get there in a couple of years.  I am happy for my fellow comedian Vice Ganda though. The celebrated host of "It's Showtime" has finally found a man who openly speaks about loving him and has love written all over his googly eyes. 

Ion came from a simple family in Tarlac with 15 siblings and has a jeepney driver for a father and a kakanin vendor for a mother. His brother died because nobody wanted to lend them P150 for medicine and Ion learned at an early age that people can be so cruel. But encountering the kindness of Vice changed all that. The two met when Ion watched as a studio audience in Vice Ganda’s program "Gandang Gabi Vice." The comedian’s co-host, “Gigil Kid” Carlo Mendoza picked Ion from the audience to go onstage. After four months, Ion made his first appearance in "It’s Showtime" as the temporary reliever of Kuya Escort Greg Hawkins. I watched that episode. Vice Ganda could not get his eyes off Ion and kept on saying that he looked like Bong Revilla. Then the punchline of the century came when the witty comedian blurted out, “Hi, I’m Lani Mercado!”
