WATCH: Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto reunite in 'Paubaya' MV as it trends on Twitter

Former sweethearts actors Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto reunited in the music video of "Paubaya" by Moira dela Torre as it sent Twitter into a frenzy on Valentine's Day.


The song was originally released in October 2020. But it is only today, Feb. 14, that the music video was released.


Directed by Niq Ablao, the heart-breaking video shows the journey of two sweethearts whose relationship went wrong.

Though the stars never planned to get married, fans of the former sweethearts, also known as JoshLia, said that the flashback scenes in the music video looked similar in real life when they were still in a relationship. They also said that both stars finally got the closure from their broken relationship.

In their dialogue, both Julia and Josh asked forgiveness from each other as they moved on:

JULIA: ′′I'm sorry, I'm sorry Josh I'm sorry I got tired. I'm sorry, I got lost. I got scared because I couldn't find you before, I gave everything. I gave you everything, I just ran out. I'm sorry I hurt you ."

JOSHUA: ′′Sorry, sorry if I wasn't there in those times when you needed me. Sorry if I wasn't there when you needed someone to hold on, sorry if I didn't protect you. I didn't even protect you. I was so scared. But I want to be there. I want to be there when you are hurt. But maybe nothing because I also know we are not really meant for each other."

JULIA: ′′We tried, right? We fought for it, right?"

JOSHUA: ′′Yeah we tried I want to say thank you to you for all the memories that you gave me, we didn't accomplish our dreams. I'm happy with what we've been through. I am happy that you are happy."

JULIA: ′′ I want you to be happy too. Thank you ′′

JOSHUA: "Thank you."

JULIA: "Thank you."

JOSHUA: ′′ Oh God, I want you to know that I forgive you."

JULIA: ′′ I forgive you, too. ′′

JOSHUA: "Kailangan ko take care of yourself. I need to."

JULIA: ′′ Okay."

In June 2019, Julia and Joshua confirmed that they were no longer a couple, in an exclusive interview by MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN.

That time, rumors about Julia being linked to Anderson were already flying.

Joshua defended Julia from rumors involving Anderson. “Hindi naman totoo ‘yun. Hindi naman magagawa ni Gerald ‘yun. Parang Kuya ko na si Gerald."

Almost two years later, Julia is rumored to be in a relationship with Anderson while Joshua is still single.

Both Julia and Joshua are still the best of friends.
