Lea Salonga advices singers: Please don't force your voice to belt

"The Voice" coach Lea Salonga won't be giving away chocolates this Valentine's, but she did leave some "sweet advice" for aspiring and even veteran singers to live up to.
She retweeted a past tweet from her account, saying: "Saw this, and felt the need to add something more to it. Not everyone is meant to belt. Please don’t force your voice to do what it wasn’t created to do."

The original tweet reads: "Dear singers, please sing in your own voice's sweet spot. It might take some time to figure that out, but here's a hint: it's where sonic heaven and the limits of physical comfort meet, enabling you to create art."
Some netizens find these words helpful and an eye-opener as well.
User @evergreen_ replied, "Oh my gosh! I just told my father this, Miss Lea! He wants me to do belting and I told him that many great singers don't belt. Thanks for this! I hope my father and other people will understand it."

Lea responded with: "SHOW THIS TO YOUR FATHER NOW!"
The former "Miss Saigon" is doing much of her work indoors since the pandemic strucked, and recently, Lea was one of the featured performers on "BBC's Musicals: The Greatest Show" last Jan. 30.
