Are Marvin Agustin and Dimsum Factory PH anti-LGBT?

Marvin Agustin and Dimsum Factory PH were called out by Miss Transgender 2020 Mela Franco Habijan for the company's message that "LGBT are not allowed to apply."

Mela tweeted: "Dear @marvinagustin and @iskomorenodomagoso, It has come to our attention that the dimsum brand you endorse seems to be LGBTQIA-phobic. In this SMS, it is blatantly stated that "LGBT are not allowed to apply."

"More so, it discriminates (against) people with tattoos and people in their mid 30s too.

"Dimsum Factory, if this is how you do your hiring, you have no right to do your business. Workplaces that discriminate people do not deserve to operate."

Mela went on saying that this is one of the reasons on why he supports anti-discrimination bill / Sogie Equality bill and urges the government to "pass it now."

Marvin responded with: "Hi Miss Mela! Thank you for tagging me. I just spoke with the owner of Dimsum Factory and he told me that they would never send a poorly worded and obviously wrong message like this. And they (told) tell me this isn't even an address they have. They are preparing a statement regarding this matter."

Dimsum Factory PH's official statement reads:


"Here is our official statement regarding the Job Posting Banning LGBT. Please be informed that the circulating job posting that is banning members of the LGBT community to apply is NOT from our company.

"We value creating and promoting inclusive growth for every person. Discrimination and cultivating divisiveness is not within our company's core values.

"We have already begun a thorough investigation on the matter. We are always grateful for your continuous patronage and support. Thank you!"

Despite this, the transgender beauty queen remains firm on her stand to support Sogie bill to avoid these kind of discrimination.
