Pia Wurtzbach believes Rabiya Mateo has what it takes to be Miss Universe

From one queen to another, Pia Wurtzbach shared her opinion about Rabiya Mateo and what makes her more than capable to bag the Miss Universe crown.

Pia shared this in an online interview with G3 San Diego last Feb. 8.

The German-Filipino beauty queen started it off with a short story on how she rooted for Rabiya back when she was still competing for the Miss Universe Philippines crown, noting that she has a different "presence" and believes that she will win it, despite not being one of the favorites for the crown.

She went on to explain that this year's pageant will be very different and that Rabiya has the edge because of her experience in competing for the Miss Universe Philippines crown during the pandemic.

Pia added: "You can also tell that she really wants it. Iba kasi yun eh, importante kasi yun.

"Parang hindi ka dapat napipilitan sa posisyon na 'yan. You also have to be ready with the responsibilities and really want it."

In addition to these, Pia commended Rabiya's looks and for being smart and composed when it comes to Q&A portions.

"She answers well, which is very important. She's very smart and it's also very important with Miss Universe nowadays, kasi they go through so many rounds of question and answerâ€”and ang ganda rin niya, I'm really excited for her to compete."
