Team Lakay's Stephen Loman signs with ONE Championship after BRAVE CF exit

"The Sniper" has found a new home.

Filipino fight fans are in for a bigger treat this year as Team Lakay's Stephen Loman recently signed with Singapore-based promotion ONE Championship.

No less than Team Lakay coach Mark Sangiao confirmed the development late Tuesday night, believing that Loman's all-around skills will be shown in the Circle.

"I spoke to Stephen and he's highly motivated right now. He can't wait to get in the Circle and put on a show," said Sangiao. "Of course, I'll be there for him, as well as all of his teammates at Team Lakay, every step of the way."

Loman, the longest reigning champion in Bahrain-based promotion BRAVE Combat Federation, decided to vacate his bantamweight belt earlier this year since capturing it last 2017.

The 25-year-old Team Lakay stalwart defeated Canadian-Indian Gurdashan Mangat en route for the title and since then defended his throne four times to continue his 8-0 win streak.

Though his weight class isn't confirmed yet, Loman is excited to join alongside his Team Lakay brothers in the Circle.

"I'm excited to enhance my skills on this platform and showcase my style to millions of viewers across the globe," said the former BRAVE CF champion, who holds a 14-2 record.

"Of course, fighting in a new promotion and a new environment will be a challenge, but it's one I'm more than willing to face. I'm ready to show ONE Championship fans the best of Stephen Loman."

Loman's ONE Championship debut has yet to be announced but is expected to see action later this year.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Pacatiw, also of Team Lakay, expressed desire to join ONE Championship since his contract in BRAVE CF expired in October.

Sangiao earlier told Manila Bulletin that negotiations with other promotions are still ongoing.
