Local LoL Wild Rift tournaments stake P10M prize pot

A total of P10 million is at stake in local tournaments featuring the emerging mobile esports title League of Legends: Wild Rift set to be organized by the premier esports organization Mineski Philippines across the country this year. 

In partnership with Globe Telecom and Oppo, Mineski will hold two major competitions for Riot Games' mobile MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game divided into two seasons--the Summer Split from April to June and the Spring Split from July to September.

The major tournaments will operate through Mineski's Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) where the best possible teams will be chosen to represent the country and vie for titles in Southeast Asia and possibly the world championship. 

"As we roll out these exciting tournaments through our partnership with Riot Games Southeast Asia and in collaboration with Globe Telecom and OPPO, we look forward to delivering truly exciting experiences and to discovering the next big names in gaming,” said Mineski Philippines country manager Mark Navarro. 

Aspiring teams will duke it out in the open qualifiers that will be held in four regions namely North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. 

Winners in the open qualifiers will advance to the regional group stages where a points system that corresponds to prize winnings will be implemented.

The four regions' rightful representatives will advance to the playoffs that will culminate in the Super Cup finals of each season. 

Each season has a P5 million prize pool for a whopping total of P10 million in this year alone. 

A preview of the upcoming local Wild Rift pro circuit will be witnessed in the Icon Series: Preseason which has the Philippines as one of the seven regions in Southeast and East Asia. 

Besides Wild Rift, Mineski also holds the license to operate official tournaments for Riot's first-person shooting game Valorant. 

Mineski is currently overseeing the Philippine Challengers which are part of the worldwide Valorant Champions Tour.
