Photo of the Week: 'Meteor Garden'

“This photo was taken last January 9 at 8:32 p.m. at Tila Pilon Hills, Doña Remedios Trinidad in Bulacan. Yes, it may look scripted that I am pointing at the meteor but this is all unplanned. We're about to start our astrophotography shoot at this very spot because the skies were clear and stars were visible. As I was doing my pose (pointing my fingers to the Orion Nebula), without any warning or signs, the meteor or fireball suddenly appeared right in front of us and especially on the portion of the sky that I was pointing between my 30 seconds exposure. I used a Canon 6D Mark II with a Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX II 11-16mm f/2.8. The camera settings: ISO 2500; f/2.8; 30" secs. shutter speed.” - Mark Oliver Mercader
