Pasig City gov't regularizes 40 hospital nurses

The Pasig City government regularized 40 hospital nurses in recognition of their sacrifices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mayor Vico Sotto made the announcement on his Facebook and Twitter accounts on Thursday, Dec. 9.

“No incentive or benefit is enough to compensate for the sacrifices they have made during this pandemic. But we'll continue to do our best and give them what we can,” said Sotto in his post.

The regularization of hospital nurses in the city hospitals is the latest move of Pasig local government to end contractualization of workers.

On Nov. 11, Sotto approved Pasig City Ordinance No. 39, Series of 2021 (Ordinance no. 39) which created around 985 regular positions for employees of the city.

Prior to this, a total of 1,957 employees were also given permanent status, bringing to over 3,000 the number of city workers who have been regularized since the start of Sotto’s term in 2019.
