Muntinlupa's active COVID-19 cases now at 27; ranks 5th lowest ADAR in NCR

Muntinlupa City’s total active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases continue to decrease.

Data from the Muntinlupa City government showed that as of Dec. 8, there are only 27 active COVID-19 cases in the city including one new case recorded for the day.

The total is out of 27,587 confirmed cases, 26,981 recoveries, and 579 deaths since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020.

A report by OCTA Research showed that Muntinlupa’s average daily attack rate (ADAR), or incidence, is 0.55 per day per 100,000 population from Dec. 1 to 7, the fifth lowest among local government units (LGUs) in the National Capital Region.

San Juan and Taguig have the highest COVID-19 incidence with 1.51 and 1.15 per 100,000 population, respectively.

The report stated that Muntinlupa’s daily average new COVID-19 cases from Dec. 1 to 7 were three, a negative growth rate of 25 percent from the period Nov. 24 to 30.

In the last eight days, Muntinlupa’s active cases are as follows: 31, Dec. 1; 27, Dec. 2; 31, Dec. 3; 31, Dec. 4; 28, Dec. 5; 30, Dec. 6; 30, Dec. 7; and 27, Dec. 8.

From Dec. 1 to 8, Muntinlupa recorded 22 new cases from 27,565 on Dec. 1 to 27,587 on Dec. 8.

Out of the total active cases, nine were recorded in Bgy. Sucat; eight are from Bgy. Poblacion; two each in Tunasan, Putatan, Ayala Alabang, and Cupang; one each in Bayanan and Alabang; and zero in Buli, the smallest barangay in Muntinlupa.

Meanwhile, the city government continues to vaccinate adults and minors. The Muntinlupa COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) announced on Dec. 7 that it has suspended the administration of booster shots due to limited supply of the vaccine.

MunCoVac said only second doses will be administered until new vaccine supplies arrive. The administration of first doses is also limited.
