A proper send-off for Daniel Craig and the birth of something new

Daniel Craig as James Bond figuring out one of his final tasks

Right off the bat, you’ll be greeted by a stirring event that leads to an interesting backstory. In “No Time To Die,” James Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica up until his old friend, Felix Leiter from the CIA, suddenly surfaces to ask for help. The communicated mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turned out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond on to the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Ralph Fiennes with Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig is back for his fifth and final outing, closing the curtains to a journey that has introduced the world to a new, modern Bond. For all his excellence in various fields, Craig’s Bond is not infallible. He is not the hero of a mystifying myth or a mortifying legend, he has perfectly portrayed that he has much to learn. Bond is a multifaceted hero, a man whose success is tempered by occasional failures. He is a mixture of the light and the dark. If he delivers a pithy one-liner, it is often shrouded in menace.

Audiences have born witness to this change. They have watched Bond learn to become an agent, to earn his license to kill, and they have seen the tremendous toll it takes. He is a loner, and yet, he has learned to let people in. He has loved and he has lost. He lost Vesper Lynd and M, and he wears those injuries on his sleeve for all to see.

Rami Malek as Lyutsifer Safin in ‘No Time To Die’

In this recent addition to the Bond timeline, Director Cary Joji Fukunaga transferred the storyline of Neal Purvis and Robert Wade to the big screen which is based on the James Bond novels written by Ian Fleming and the various James Bond motion pictures produced by Danjaq, LLC, and its predecessors in interest. The film was scored by Steve Mazzaro with the Hans Zimmer as the composer.

Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner, Naomi Harris as Eve Moneypenny, and Ralph Fiennes as Gareth Mallory

A Bond film is not complete without a star-studded cast. With Daniel Craig having 15 years of being James Bond, Rami Malek will join him, together with Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, and Ralph Fiennes.

Having its release cancelled a number of times due to the pandemic, I would say that it’s definitely worth the wait. “No Time To Die” perfectly encapsulates its audience in Bond’s world of sophistication, action, and passion. It is a proper send-off for Daniel Craig.
