Pasay Mayor Emi provides assistance to fire victims

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano extended assistance to around 50 families who were rendered homeless by a fire in Pasay City on Tuesday night (Dec. 7).

The mayor along with some city hall officials visited the affected families at the corner of P. Villanueva and Raymundo Sts. in Barangay 87 at about 6:10 p.m.

Rubiano ordered the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) to provide food packs and blankets to the families who are temporarily staying at the covered court.

The Pasay City Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) said 15 houses made of light materials and eight apartments were destroyed by the fire.

Based on the BFP report, the blaze started at the house of a certain Chariot Cruz and immediately spread to nearby houses and apartments.

Six French dogs and three puppies were also rescued by the responding firemen during the fire.

The fire was placed under control at about 9:13 p.m. No one was reported injured in the incident.

The BFP placed the cost of fire damage at P800,00.

Probers have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
