P8.5M worth of ecstasy seized from lady consignee in Las Piñas

Government's anti-narcotics agents seized some P8.5 million worth of party drug ecstasy following a controlled delivery operation in Las Piñas City which also led to the arrest of a female consignee.

Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspect as Ana Fe Morilla alias Jonah Ileve.

In a statement, PDEA said that the package containing ecstasy tablets arrived at the Port of Clark last Dec. 3.

“The subject package arrived from Belgium and was declared as “lamp.” As it underwent initial test using Rigaku narcotics device, the package indicated the presence of MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine or ecstasy) which prompted us to conduct controlled delivery operation,’’ a PDEA Clark agent said.

The arresting officers seized 4,970 pieces of ecstasy tablets, one unit of cellular phone and two identification (ID) cards from Morilla.

Morilla faces charges for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) Article II of Republic Act 9165.

The operation was carried out by the PDEA Central Luzon, PDEA-National Capital Region (NCR), Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Clark and Philippine National Police (PNP) units.
