Over P1-M shabu siezed, 15 suspects nabbed in QC buy-busts

Police seized a total of P1,074,400 worth of alleged shabu and arrested 15 drug suspects in a series of buy-bust operations in Quezon City on Dec. 7 and 8.

Police Lt. Col. Jowie Lucas, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Fairview Station 5 (PS-5) commander, identified the first two suspects as Enrique Zamora, 58, listed as a regional level drug personality; and Mhon Julio, 34.

Based on a tip from an informant, operatives of PS-5 launched the entrapment on Camaro St. in Brgy. Greater Fairview on Dec. 7, leading to the arrest of the suspects at around 5:00 p.m.

The suspects yielded more than 100 grams of alleged shabu worth P680,000, a blue motorcycle, buy-bust money, and a cellphone.

The District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) also nabbed five other suspects in two separate operations in Brgy. Paltok and Brgy. Ramon Magsaysay.

Police Maj. Wennie Ann Cale, DDEU chief, identified the suspects as Alex Poblentin, 28; Czandor Nickhol James, 21; Joseph Dela Cruz, 21; all residents of Brgy. Paltok, Quezon City; Bryan Cruz and Zheena Adane of Brgy. Ramon Magsaysay, Quezon City.

Poblentin, James, and Dela Cruz were arrested inside a house on Matias St. on Dec. 7 at around 7:00 a.m., while Cruz and Adane were nabbed on Ilocos Sur St. in Brgy. Ramon Magsaysay on Dec. 8 at about 11:40 a.m.

Authorities recovered a total of P258,000 worth of alleged shabu, three cellphones, and buy-bust money from the suspects.

Meanwhile, the QCPD Holy Spirit Station 14 (PS-14) arrested Jose Aldren Ceroza, 43; Reymark Remoroza, 25; and Alvin Alcantara, 39, at Area 7, Brgy. Holy Spirit at around 8:00 of Dec.7.

The suspects surrendered nine sachets of shabu with a street value of P68,000, and the buy-bust money.

The QCPD Galas Station 5 also carried out another buy-bust operation on Cuatro De Julio in Brgy. San Isidro at about 4 a.m. on Dec. 8.

The operatives apprehended Dawn Calanno, 41; Patricia Dimacali, 24; Marilou Lopez, 36; Rominick Fugaban, 33; and Simoun Riel Aljibe, 29.

Confiscated from the suspects were P68,000 worth of shabu, a Toyota Avanza, a cellphone, and buy-bust money, according to the police.

The QCPD said all the suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
