CEB increases Bacolod flights to 16x/week

Cebu Pacific (CEB) is adding daily flights from Manila to Bacolod beginning Dec. 16, bringing its total to 16 times weekly to address rising demand for domestic travel.

CEB will be operating Manila-Bacolod flights twice daily, on top of its twice weekly flights exclusively for fully-vaccinated passengers until Jan. 15, 2022.

“Our sincerest thanks to Gov. Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson for supporting the recovery of air travel to and from Bacolod and for recognizing the need for additional frequencies in order to reduce fares," Michael Ivan Shau, CEB chief corporate affairs officer said.

To date, about 51.65 percent of Negros Occidental's target population have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, based on the data of Department of Health Region 6 as of Dec. 6.

To support inoculation efforts, CEB will continue to provide a waiver of fees for 5kg excess baggage until Jan. 15, 2022, exclusively for fully-vaccinated passengers flying to and from Bacolod with pre-purchased baggage.

To claim this benefit, passengers must present their vaccination card or certificate at the CEB check-in counters. CEB also operates a once-weekly flight between Cebu and Bacolod every Tuesday.

“We remain committed to rebuilding the public’s trust and confidence in air travel, and we will continue to collaborate with the government to achieve this goal,” added Shau.

CEB has attained 100 percent vaccination rate for its active flying crew through its very own employee vaccination program, JG Summit COVID Protect, and various partnerships with local government units in the country.

The airline has been rated 7/7 stars by airlineratings.com for its COVID-19 compliance as it continues to implement a multi-layered approach to safety, in accordance with global aviation standards.

These include daily extensive cleaning and disinfection protocols for all aircraft and facilities, on top of its contactless flight procedures.

Its jet fleet are equipped with hospital grade HEPA filters, known to eradicate viruses with 99.9 percent efficiency. CEB's domestic network cover 33 destinations, on top of its 12 international destinations.

It has a 74-strong fleet, one of the youngest in the world, which includes two dedicated ATR freighters.
