Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. wooed Quezon City folk Wednesday, Dec. 8 as he led his joint caravan with vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Marcos Jr. started his motorcade in front of the Commission on Audit along Commonwealth Ave. shortly before 8 a.m.

Duterte-Carpio eventually joined Marcos the caravan as they either shook hands with or gave away t-shirts to people shouting "Bongbong-Sara" to earn more of their support.

"Sama sama tayong babangon muli (We will rise again)," Duterte-Carpio, daughter of current President Duterte, assured the cheering crowd.

The event left the stretch of the highway impassable to traffic for almost four hours due to the slow-moving caravan composed of motorcycles and other vehicles that did not stop honking.

The caravan, which ended in Welcome Rotonda on Quezon Ave. by 1 p.m., was organized by Malayang Quezon City tandem of mayoral aspirant and Anakalusugan Partylist Rep. Michael Defensor and vice mayoral aspirant and Councilor Winston Castelo despite appeals from the local government to make the motorcade safe for everyone amid threats of COVID-19 spread.

The local government of Quezon City also said the caravan's organizer eventually backed out from its supposed coordination with them.
