PNP procures P398M worth of vehicles, IT equipment, protection gears

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has acquired more than P398 million worth of equipment to further improve the operational capability of the organization in its law enforcement function.

PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said the newly-procured equipment was funded thru appropriations for the Capability Enhancement Program (CEPs) 2019, 2020, and 2021, Congress-Introduced Initiative Appropriation Balance 2018 and Operational Transformation.

Those bought were 161 units patrol jeeps; 594 Tactical Vest Level 3A1,389 Upgrade Plates Level 4; 3,106 Undershirt Vest Level 3A; 10 units Rapid Deployment CCTV System; (1 Lot) Assault Rifle; and 22 units integrator.

Police Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Olay, director of the PNP Directorate for Logistics, said the patrol vehicles will be issued to police stations while the tactical and undershirt armor vests to Provincial Mobile Force Companies and police stations.

On the other hand, the rapid deployment CCTV system will be used by Directorate for Operations while the and integrators by various Police Regional Offices.

"The new units patrol jeeps will be immediately distributed to different police stations across the country to boost their police patrol operations as part of intensified security drive in communities in times of national health crisis," said Olay.
