Pasay police arrest Chinese national for kidnapping, possession of drugs


A Chinese national was arrested for kidnapping his fellow Chinese and for possession of illegal drugs Monday, Dec. 6, in Pasay City.

Col. Cesar Paday-os, Pasay City police chief, identified the suspect as Gao Lei of Unit 520 Shore Residence Tower C1, Barangay 76, Pasay City.

Paday-os said the victim was identified as Liu Kun, 26, of Unit 224 Shell Residence Tower C, Pasay City.

The suspect was arrested at about 9:00 p.m. in front of Shell Residence, Sunrise Drive, Pasay City .

Paday-os said Wang Chen Yang, 28, a friend of the victim, reported to the police that Kun called up and said that he was kidnapped by the suspect who was demanding money for his release.

He said that after the report made by Yang, operatives from the Station Investigation Detective Management Section immediately went to Shore Residence where Gao was waiting for Yang for the release of Kun.

Gao, sensing the presence of the police, tried to escape but was immediately arrested. His victim, Liu, was found inside the vehicle with his hands tied with a packaging tape.

During the search conducted by the police, they found a glass tube with suspected shabu residue and one sealed transparent sachet containing five unknown capsules.

Gao was charged by the police for kidnapping and possession of drugs.
