Jolo Estrada, son of former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, said he is excited about his first television acting on Regal Studio Presents this Sunday, Dec. 12, at 4:35 p.m. on GMA.

During a Zoom press conference on Dec. 7, Jolo said the Regal Studio series is his showbiz comeback after he finished school.

"First time ko na makikita ang sarili ko sa TV na umaarte. Excited na ako," said Jolo, when he talked about the series entitled "Ethan's Return" for Regal Studio.

In the series, Jolo says he plays the role of Clark, the best friend of Ethan, portrayed by Joaquin Domagoso.

The synopsis for the TV series:

"In 2011, Ethan and Grace, both 16, were childhood lovers who promised each other to be together until the end. On Christmas Eve, Ethan met an accident and died. For the next 10 years, all Grace did was move on from him and carry on with her life with the help and support of Clark, until she began to fall in love with him.

"The only problem is Clark was Ethan’s best friend. Grace knows she’s now ready to go to the next step and marry Clark. But on days before Christmas Eve of 2021, by an unknown cosmic anomaly, Ethan goes back to life, in his 16-year-old self having his last memories still being Grace’s boyfriend.

"What happens when an ex-lover literally returns from the dead? What happens to Grace? And what will happen to Clark?" The show also stars Thea Tolentino as Grace.

On his working relationship with Joaquin, Jolo said: "He's a nice guy. Wala naman kaming naging problem. Ako naman kahit sino ang maka-work ko okay lang."

Jolo, also a businessman, belongs to a family of politicians and movie stars. His grandfather is former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada.

Asked about the best acting advice his grandpa ever gave him on showbiz, Jolo said: "He always reminds me to do my best."

Jolo said that he is also close to Jake Ejercito, son of his Erap.

"Jake gives me advice pagdating sa acting. I am happy for more him kasi naaaliw ako sa kanya sa 'Marry Me, Marry You,' " he said.

Between acting and politics, Jolo said he is more drawn into show business.

"I hope to do a role with a split personality. This will be a big challenge for me," he said.

But Jolo, 26, said he is not closing his doors on politics.

"As of now, wala talaga akong plano pumasok sa pulitika. I am focused on show business. Hopefully, magkaroon din ako ng hosting gig. Isa yun talaga sa plano ko," he said.

Roselle Monteverde of Regal Entertainment said that she is happy with Jolo's performance in "Ethan's Run."

"Marami pa siyang pagbibidahan sa Regal Fillms," she said.

Jolo commented: "Wow! Salamat po! I am grateful. Maraming salamat po."

Growing up in a clan of popular personalities, Jolo admitted that being an Estrada gives him pressure at first.

"It's like people are watching you all the time. Bawa't kilos mo binabantayan ka," he said. He recalled the first time he was bashed online. "For a while, dinamdam ko yun pero now I know how to handle myself."

Jolo said that he has embraced the fact that he would be scrutinized being in the public eye. "Pero wala na sa akin yun. Hindi na namin pinapansin ang mga bashing. Expect na namin na may mga criticism talaga."
