DQ cases vs Marcos Jr. 'pathetic stunts' — camp

The camp of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. described on Tuesday, Dec. 7, as “pathetic stunts” the disqualification petitions being filed against him.

Lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos Jr.’s chief-of-staff and spokesman, said in a statement that those preventing Marcos from running for the highest seat in the country must “not remove the right of the people to freely choose their leader.

He also urged them to “stop looking down on the intelligence of the Filipino people.”

Rodriguez made the pronouncement after an Ilocano group, Pudno Nga Ilocano, filed before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) an 8th petition against Marcos and a 4th disqualification petition.

“While we maintain that these petitions are nothing but nuisance cases, we urge those who are behind these pathetic stunts to please respect the Filipino people and their democratic right to decide for themselves and their collective future,” Rodriguez said.

“Election are won and settled on election day and not through the filing of nuisance petitions,” he added.

Marcos Jr.’s camp also said their legal team is already addressing all the petitions filed before Comelec against him.
