PCG recognizes units, individuals to celebrate 14th anniversary of its fleet
The Philippine Coast Guard has recognized some of its personnel to highlight the celebration the 14th founding anniversary of its fleet.
Rear Admiral Allan Victor T. Dela Vega, Commander of the Coast Guard Fleet, for maintaining a good percentage of ‘ready for sea’ vessels in the unit.
“Our vessels are always active, especially in our operations at West Philippine Sea. We really need to make sure that our vessels are well-maintained and are operational so we could have units deployed, not only at West Philippine Sea, but also nationwide," said PCG commandant Admiral Leopoldo Laroya.
“There were a lot of improvements in the Philippine Coast Guard. Now we can deploy vessels as far down south and as far up north. I am proud that we are now able to swiftly respond to emergencies to be of service to our kababayans,” he added.
