141 couples say 'I do' in Pasay City's Kasalang Bayan

A total of 141 couples said their "I dos" at the Kasalang Bayan (mass civil wedding) sponsored by the Pasay City government on Saturday (Dec. 4) at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the “Kasalang Bayan” was part of the 158th celebration of the city's founding anniversary.

Rubiano said the oldest couple that joined the mass civil wedding were Rogelio Lopuz, 61, and Josephine Gallano, 52, who finally tied the knot after living together for 32 years. They have seven children.

She said the couple decided to join the mass wedding after their children convinced them to grab the opportunity to get married.

Rubiano officiated the mass wedding.
