P1.6-M shabu seized in Taguig sting

Taguig City police seized P1.66 million worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in a buy-bust operation on Dec. 3.

The entrapment operation was conducted by the Taguig police’s drug enforcement unit at about 8:10 p.m. that resulted in the arrest of suspect Jemily Lasdon, 31, according to a report submitted by city police chief Col. Celso Rodriguez to Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.

Police seized from Lasdon five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 245.3 grams with a value of P1.66 million and the buy-bust money.

Lasdon is now under the custody of the Taguig City Police. He will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The seized drugs will be turned over to the SPD Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.
