Raffy Tulfo recalls first time he praised idol Sen. Ping Lacson

Popular broadcaster Raffy Tulfo has recalled the first time he praised Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson Sr., now standard-bearer of Partido Reporma in the 2022 national elections.

Raffy said he wants to share this interesting piece of information about Ping among the millennials.

During a recent meeting with various transport groups, Raffy recalled an incident when Ping was still chief of the Philippine National Police from 1991 to 2001.

That time, Raffy said that Ping issued an ultimatum among policemen to return the carnaped vehicles they were using to the owners.

“Binigyan niya, kung tama pa ang pagkakaalala ko, 48 hours yata ‘yun, na lahat ng mga carnapped vehicles na ginagamit ng mga pulis kailangan maisoli na, no questions asked. Napapalakpak po ako nun. Kasi nga po, palagi akong nakakatanggap ng reklamo na ‘Sir Raffy ‘yung kotse ko na-carnap at nakita ko gamit-gamit po ng pulis.'

“Matapos makapagbigay si Gen. Lacson ng taning sa mga pulis para isoli ang mga ginagamit nilang carnapped vehicle...‘yung Camp Crame po napuno ng mga sasakyan. Doon ko po nakita si Senator Lacson na mataas ang pagrespeto sa kanya ng kapulisan,” Raffy recalled.

Raffy also praised Ping for refusing to accept bribes which he ordered his men to do the same.

“Noong magdeklara siya sa kanyang mga pulis ng tinatawag na ‘no take policy’ at ang nakinabang po noon kayo pong nasa transport group dahil madalas po akong makatanggap ng reklamo noon mga jeepney driver, tricycle driver na kinokotong, napatigil po ‘yan ni Senator Lacson,” Raffy noted.

Raffy, who is running for the Senate in 2022, said that these qualities made him realized that Ping is a no-nonsense leader.
