The Philippine Embassy in Brussels, Belgium was temporarily closed after a personnel tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In an advisory dated Dec. 30, the embassy announced its temporary closure until Friday, Jan. 7, 2022.
"The embassy regrets to inform the public that one of its personnel has tested positive for COVID-19," the advisory read.
"In compliance with health protocols and in the interest of public safety the embassy will be closed from Thursday, 30 December 2021 to Friday, 7 January 2022," it added.
The embassy, however, did not disclose if there are other personnel exposed to the confirmed COVID positive employee. The number of employees who are currently under quarantine as close contacts was also not disclosed.
The Philippine Embassy will resume its operations on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
