'Winning Way'

Resourceful Personality (RP) was shocked when she found out she did not make the list of a coveted role in a project. RP was confident that she would top the list, as she was most qualified. However, she heard from the grapevine that she was no longer needed.

The rumor bewildered RP as she worried about the repercussions on her career. Allegedly, she feared that lack of exposure might diminish her fame. Thus, she communicated with the decision-makers to clear the air and stressed that she declined lucrative offers from other management companies. Further, she added that she struck gold for the company, too.

RP’s arguments were not bought by the decision-makers, who replied that many projects were collaborations and not synonymous to a talent alone. Teamwork spelled success. The reply disheartened RP, but she did not give up.

Subsequently, RP reached out to a mentor, whose words carry weight. Cornered, the mentor assured RP of her dreams and her role in the project. RP got her way and the decision-makers could not do anything as the mentor had decided.

Cost of a Night

Cute Hunk (CH) has been in the entertainment industry long enough to know the ins and outs of one’s career. When he started, he was a typical newcomer who relied on breaks given by his management. He was not spared from comments that he only had looks. Time honed his talent and soon, he proved he could act. Subsequently, CH landed challenging roles and was recognized by critics as well.

Not only is CH valuable as a talent in front of the cameras, as he knows his worth behind the scenes as well. According to the grapevine, CH is much in demand in the circles for proposals, indecent or otherwise. CH is attractive, which accounts for his undeniable attraction. One time, a Non-showbiz Executive (NE) took the chance of proposing a deal to CH. NE thought he had the resources that would not make CH resist him. CH was smart as well and he knew how much he was wanted. Thus, he raised the bar high. He allegedly asked NE for a unit in exchange for a night with him. If NE took the deal, well, he would have quite a story to brag among his peers, and CH a home richer.
