Deputy prosecutor shot dead in Trece Martires, Cavite

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – A 48-year-old deputy city prosecutor was killed in a shooting incident in Barangay Cabuco on Friday (Dec. 31).

According to Trece Martires City Police, the victim, Fiscal Edilbert Mendoza, was shot in the head in front of his residence.

Investigator-on-case PSSg Rene Bibon told the Manila Bulletin that CCTV footage of the crime showed one suspect with a male physique.

The police are still investigating whether the suspect's motive is personal or related to the victim's profession.
