The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Thursday, Dec. 30, announced that it has remained on alert status to ensure peace and order during the city’s celebration of the 125th Rizal Day.

“Sa kasalukuyan, wala po kaming na mo-monitor na banta o panganib sa pagdaros ng Rizal Day Celebration, subalit inatasan ko na ang ating mga tauhan na paigtingin at doblehin ang pagmomonitor at pag-iinspeksyon sa mga public places and conveyance para maiwasan ang anumang insedente, karahasan at iba pang uri ng kriminalidad sa lungsod ng Quezon (Currently, we have not monitored any threats or dangers during the Rizal Day celebration, but I have instructed our staff to intensify and double the monitoring and inspection in public places and conveyances to avoid any incidents, violence, and other types of crime in Quezon City),” QCPD director Police Brig. Gen. Antonio Yarra said.
The QCPD is mandated to secure the safety of lives and properties and to make sure that the minimum public standard health protocols are being followed during the holiday season even in the absence of any terror threats, according to Yarra.
Yarra reminded the residents to always be aware and watchful of any incidents that might occur while the Rizal Day celebration is still ongoing.
"Nawa’y manatili tayong ligtas lalung-lalo na sa ating pagsalubong sa bagong taon (May we stay safe, especially when we celebrate the new year),” he added.
