AFP feeds typhoon victims, transports 488K kilos of relief goods
Around 1,500 residents in Cebu City were fed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as part of its continuing relief operations for victims of typhoon “Odette,” the military said on Thursday, Dec. 30.

Gen. Andres Centino, AFP Chief of Staff, said the AFP Mobile Kitchen that is directly under the Field Service Group of the AFP Logistics Support Command was deployed to the Visayas Command’s Joint Area of Operations (JOA).
“The Mobile Kitchen was set to aid indigent and most needful communities that were affected by the calamity,” he said.
On Wednesday, the military’s mobile kitchens were in Barangay Tejero in Cebu City where it distributed 1,500 pieces of lunch packs to residents.
The mobile kitchens also served residents in Barangays San Roque, Ermita, and Pasil in Cebu City on Dec. 24, 25, and 27, serving 3,000 meals per day.

Meanwhile, Philippine Navy (PN) landing dock vessel BRP Tarlac (LD601) departed from Pier 13, South Harbor, Manila on Wednesday to transport 488,000 kilograms of consolidated relief goods and other essential items in Cebu, Bohol and Surigao Island.
The ship was also transporting 53 tons of rolling cargoes which include Meralco trucks and AFP military vehicles with fuel tanks.
Last week, LD601 departed the same port with approximately 350,000 kilograms of relief goods and essential personal supplies from other government agencies and stakeholders, as well as cargo from the PN and AFP.
