Pia Wurtzbach shares travel experience amid new COVID-19 variant

With the detection of the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach made an effort to share her recent travel experience.

According to her, the quarantine rules keep changing.

"I arrived from Abu Dhabi and yes you still have to quarantine in a hotel for 3 days," she said.

Then Pia advised: "Always check the quarantine rules before you fly. Always check the news cos a few days ago you didn't have to quarantine in a hotel because UAE was on the green list but I guess because of the new variant the rules changed again. Just check online before you fly."

Though, she noticed that the process at the airport was much faster this time.

"Felt like pre pandemic days. And nooo its not because of VIP treatment. I fall in line and wait like everybody else. Mas mabilis na process ngayon," she related.

Note that Pia flew to South Africa last October after being tapped as one of the members of the official selection panel for the Miss South Africa 2021 beauty pageant.

Then after her stint, she met with her longtime boyfriend Jeremy Jauncey and toured around cities of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Last July, Pia got stuck in Dubai following the extension of the travel ban in the Philippines, as a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus as fueled by the Delta variant.

Note that she flew in there to reunite with her boyfriend.

During that time, Pia traveled with Jeremy and even celebrated the latter's birthday in Turkey.
