Over 300 indigents in Davao del Norte benefit from PCUP's mini caravan

More than 300 indigents in Island Garden City of Samal, Daval del Norte have availed free services from government and private agencies through mini caravan of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP).

“Layunin ng aktibidad na maihatid sa mga komunidad na maralita ang iba’t-ibang mga pangunahing serbisyo ng pamahalaan, gayundin ng mga pribadong sektor para sa ikauunlad ng antas ng pamumuhay ng mga kababayang mahihirap sa bansa (The activity aims to deliver basic government and private sector services to communities in order to improve the living standards of the country’s poor),” said PCUP Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Undersecretary Alvin S. Feliciano.

Among the agencies who have participated in the activity mini caravan on Nov. 26 were the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) which delivered free medical check-ups; Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the Department of Health (DOH) who distributed free vitamins; City Veterinary Office for animal check-ups and anti-rabies; and City Health Office for deworming.

Furthermore, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), PNP, and City Agriculture Office also attended to provide orientation about their programs and services.

“Upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga dumalo ay mahigpit na sinunod ng bawat isa ang mga minimum health protocols ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) gaya ng pagsusuot ng face mask, paghuhugas ng kamay at pagpapanatili ng social distancing (To ensure the safety of the attendees everyone strictly followed the minimum public health protocols of the IATF such as wearing of face mask, washing of hands, and maintaining social distancing),” said PCUP.
