Vice President Leni Robredo is now under quarantine after her exposure to her close-in security who tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday night, Dec. 28.

During a Facebook live Wednesday, Dec. 29, Robredo disclosed that she is on her first day of quarantine after being exposed to a member of her security team, who has been with her during her visits to various provinces to conduct relief operations.

"Kagabi tinawagan ako na yung isang close-in security ko nag-positive...So ngayon naka-quarantine ako (Last night, I received a call that my close-in security tested positive...So now, I am under quarantine)," Robredo bared.

The Vice President said she and some of her team will be on quarantine for seven days. They started their isolation period immediately after hearing the news from the security team on Tuesday night.

The sudden turn of events, Robredo said, will put to a halt her planned visit to more typhoon-affected areas in the country. However, the relief operations her office has been leading will carry on, she assured.

"Yung trabaho ko gagawin ko na munang online para hindi sayang sa oras pero nahinto yung aking pag-iikot pero rest assured na yung mga teams natin ay tuloy tuloy yung relief operations on the ground (In the meantime, I will just work online in order not to waste time but my visit to affected areas will be put on hold but rest assured that our teams will continue with the relief operations)," she said.

"Gusto mong umikot pa pero kailangan mong maging responsible na sumunod sa protocol (You want to visit more affected aread but we need to be responsible in following the protocol)," she added.

"Ang dami pa sana naming plano pero yung kagabi parang sinasabihan ako ng mga kasama ko na isipin mo na lang na forced break mo ito na kailangan mong huminito muna kasi kailangan mong mag-quarantine (We still have a lot of plans but last night, my team was telling me to treat this as a forced break because I need to undergo quarantine)," she continued.

The aspiring President has been visiting typhoon-affected areas like Bohol, Cebu, Siargao, Dinagat Islands, and Palawan to bring immediate relief necessities to typhoon victims. Her most recent visit was in Dinagat Islands.

Robredo also disclosed that she was able to dodge a possible exposure from her daughter Tricia, who tested positive for the disease days before Christmas. However, right when her daughter was already recovering, the lady leader was exposed to her security team.

She said this was already her second time to be exposed to a COVID-positive individual.

Robredo also asked for prayers that no one from her team will test positive for the disease and let their experience be a lesson to stay vigilant against the virus.
