The Manila city government inaugurated the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU) Headquarters along A. Bonifacio street in Santa Cruz, Manila on Tuesday, Dec. 28.
Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso led the inauguration and was joined by Manila Police District (MPD) Director Brig. Gen. Leo M. Francisco and other city and police officials.
The city government of Manila constructed the building for the MPD and the MDTEU specifically.
The old MDTEU headquarters was located on Roberto Oca street in Port Area, Manila.
“For so long a time, squatter po ang aming Traffic Unit. Ngayon makikita niyo sa inyong harapan ang isang napakagandang building. Hindi lang po binigyan kami ng isang tahanan kung hindi napaka-ayos na tahanan (Our Traffic Unit used to be a squatter. Now you see in front of you a beautiful building. We weren’t just given space but a proper headquarters),” said Francisco during the inauguration.
"Our humble offer with all humility and appreciation to the men and women, uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of MPD, our partner to keep the City of Manila and the people of Manila safe," said Domagoso.
